Jesus Himself intercedes!

Good Morning, Church!

Some days we are just so stuck in our own sin, or completely exhausted, we can't even pray... and on those days, we need an intercessor!

"Thus they provoked Him to anger with their deeds, and the plague broke out among them. Then Phinehas stood up and intervened, and the plague was stopped, and that was accounted to him for righteousness to all generations forevermore." -Psalm 106:29-31

Perhaps your life is going great! Praise Him. But also take time to think about some people who may need you to intercede on their behalf. You run into hurting people all the time. Just pause and lift them to the Father. Phinehas did that, and saved an entire group of people!! There is power when you stand in the gap on behalf of people who cannot pray for themselves! Think of those you know who don't know God. Pray that they would come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ! Think of those who are struggling. Pray that God would meet them at the deepest point of their need. True prayer costs you something... time... emotional pain...Really put yourself in that person's shoes, and pour out your heart to the Lord. Carry their burden for them.

If you are at a point where you feel like you can't even pray- know that you are still loved. And just take time to sit silently in His presence and hold your heart there. And take courage- not only is the body of Christ, the church, praying for you- but the Holy Spirit and Jesus Himself are also praying!

"Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered." -Romans 8:26

"It is Christ who died and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us." -Romans 8:34

Pleading your case to the Father,
Kelly
