Introducing myself at the Blog Party!

Welcome to our little corner of the web! I am very happy to invite everyone who is stopping by from the titus 2 blog party into our lives for the week- and hopefully longer!

The picture above is my happy little family at Christmas time. Josh and I have been married for four years. Caleb is two, and Seth is 8 months old. And Jesus is the one who holds all of our hearts together as one!

If you were here I would offer you some coffee or tea, and something warm right out of the oven (today its peach muffins, very unseasonal- but I was craving a taste of summer!). And I'm sure we would chat about your family, and my family- what the Lord has been teaching you and where He is leading you. Whenever that happens, I get excited to share how He is teaching me about His school of prayer- and how He is leading us as we become missionaries to Uganda, East Africa. We are at the very beginning of our fundraising year and very green!

I spent the first year out of college teaching at a Christian International School in Kampala Uganda, and fell in love with the people there and the slow pace of the african culture! My heart was burdened for the Missionary Kids and other Third Culture Kids and as we head back to Uganda in the Spring of 2010 we will be serving as the Campus Pastor for the International School where I taught in 2002-2003! We will also spend time discipling students at Kampala International University. We are excited about the ministries God has in store for us there- but I view my primary ministry as wife, mother and keeper of our home!

A little about me personally- I love to scrapbook, read and write. My favorite color is lime green. I love finding fun things to do with my boys. I really enjoy a good cup of coffee and deep conversation with someone dear (yes, this definitely includes my husband). I am not the best communicator when it comes to my friends- but they know this and extend me lots of grace! Being the wife of a youth pastor, I love spending time with my senior high girls- laughing with them and challenging them to fall more deeply in love with our Savior. One of my favorite moments of the day is when I snuggle my two year old down to sleep as we pray for the people we love.

Through my blog I hope to use my love of writing to encourage people to find their role in God's Kingdom- whether that be in their comfy home surrounded by little ones, or in the marketplace, or in a hut in africa! And I hope to savor each moment with my family as I take time to reflect on the sweet and not so sweet moments in our journey. This blog is used for devotional thoughts, keeping family and friends up to date with our journey, and encouraging new friends to join His kingdom work around the world! Come with us as we seek to bless the nations!
