"A great multitude is coming against you from beyond the sea...And Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek the Lord, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah. So Judah gather together to ask help from the Lord... "O our God... we have no power against this great multitude that is coming against us; nor do we know what to do, but our eyes are upon You."
"Thus says the Lord to you: 'Do not be afraid nor dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not your, but God's... You will not need to fight in this battle. Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord, who is with you, O Judah and Jerusalem! Do not fear or e dismayed; tomorrow go out against them for the Lord is with you." -2 Chronicles 20: 2-4, 12, 15, 17
These are hard days for non-profits. It is tough to raise funds for the mission field in this financial climate. But if we focus on these facts we do not have the mind of Christ. Thursday as we fast and pray- let us fix our eyes on God who has already won the victory, who has been faithful in the past and who is with us today. He is willing and ready to fight for us- but we must ask. We must storm heaven with our petitions. We must sacrifice that which is dear to us (food, internet, TV) and show God how serious we are about fighting on behalf of His world!
