Breathe on Me, Breath of God

the song in my heart this morning:

Breathe on me, Breath of God,
fill me with life anew,
that I may love what thou dost love,
and do what thou wouldst do.

Breathe on me, Breath of God,
until my heart is pure,
until with thee I will one will,
to do and to endure.

Breathe on me, Breath of God,
till I am wholly thine,
till all this earthly part of me
glows with thy fire divine.

Breathe on me, Breath of God,
so shall I never die,
but live with thee the perfect life
of thine eternity.

  1. Thank you for sharing those words. I know them well but haven't sung them in years because so many churches now sing contemporary worship songs. However, that dear old hymn is full of spiritual truths and cries of the heart. These are the ones that spoke to me, based on my current prayers:

"...that I may love what thou dost love,
and do what thou wouldst do.

...until with thee I will one will,

Breathe on me, Breath of God,
    till I am wholly thine...."

Your message is timely, a real blessing.

God bless you in 2011. I'm looking forward to getting better acquainted with you and your ministry.

    Linda
