Happy Sabbath, Church!
Today's readings: Revelation 19, Isaiah 5-6, Psalm 109:20-31
"In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, high and lifted up, and the train of His robe filled the temple. Above it stood seraphim, each on had six wings, with two he covered his face, with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew. And one cried to another and said, "Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; the whole earth is full of His glory!" And the posts of the door were shaken by the voice of him who cried out, and the house was filled with smoke. So I said, Woe is me, for I am undone! Because I am a man of unclean lips..." -Isaiah 6:1-5
Isaiah saw a vision of the Lord- and was transported to His presence. And when He was in the presence of our holy God- he was very aware of his sin! Whenever we are face to face with God we become aware of our sinfulness- we cannot help but feel unworthy to approach His throne! His heart melted within him when he saw the glory of God! Do we ever tremble when we enter the Lord's presence at church, or in our private prayer time? We have received grace and been made worthy through Jesus Christ- but still the very presence of God ought to make us tremble- should overwhelm us and throw us to our knees in worship! Perhaps even more so because of the grace we have received!!
It is my prayer that as you enter the Lord's house today- that you are overwhelmed by His glory and His grace- and that you would be transformed by His presence.
