Inviting Him along!

Good morning, Church!

God longs to meet our needs and be with us on every step of our journeys!

Today's readings: Revelation 18, Isaiah 3-4, Psalm 109:1-19

"...then the Lord will create above every dwelling place of Mount Zion, and above her assemblies, a cloud and smoke by day and the shining of a flaming fire by night. For over all the glory there will be a covering. And there will be a tabernacle for shade in the daytime from the heat, for a place of refuge, and for a shelter from storm and rain." -Isaiah 4:5-6

Now, this is a prophetic book, and Isaiah wasn't trying to be poetic. But I would like us to take a look today at that tabernacle he was referring to. A shade from heat, a place of refuge, and a shelter from storm and rain. Perhaps your life is going well today- and yet, there is still heat on your sun-shiny day. Perhaps you feel like you are under attack, and you need refuge. Or maybe you feel like you are in the midst of a dark gray storm, and you need shelter. Take some time today to tell God about your needs. Tell Him where you're at- and how you feel about it. Air all your grievances- or shower Him with thanks... whatever the case may be. But then thank Him for being who you need Him to be! Even on sunny days we need Him! Do we realize that? I certainly don't remember that all the time! He isn't just our safety net- He longs to be our Companion through everything, the highs and the lows. He wants to walk beside you, and dwell within you in every season of life and every emotion of the soul. So invite Him in today. Ask Him to join you on your journey- let Him accompany you on your errands, and cheer with you as your kids play soccer, bring Him along on your date nights and your work assignments- He wants to do life with you! So cultivate that friendship- and it will make your worship that much more intimate!

Walking with Him today,
Kelly
