Hope

Today's message is a word of hope. That is what advent is all about: HOPE.

Today's reading: Luke 1:5-25

"But the angel said to him, "Do not be afraid, Zacharias, for your prayer is heard, and your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you shall call his name John...(and he will) make ready a people prepared for the Lord..." -Luke 1:13, 17

God's people had been waiting for their Messiah for hundreds of years... and He was about to arrive. And this couple, Zachariah and Elizabeth had been waiting for years and given up hope of ever having a child...and he was about to arrive. So whatever your circumstances today, look up and have hope- perhaps the answer to your prayers is right around the corner!

Advent and Christmas are God’s ways of sending a signal of hope to remind us that life is stronger than death. Light is more powerful than darkness. God is more powerful than Satan. Good will overcome evil. Joy is stronger than disappointment. That’s the message of Christmas.

With hope,
Kelly
