Look at the Birds of the Air...

"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?

"And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." -Matthew 6:25-34

Dear friends- I pray that you are as encouraged by these words as I have been lately. We are currently on the road in Kentucky, and so blogging has gotten a backseat, but I just had to share these words with you. While staying with the Bowmans in Corydon, IN, I witnessed such gracious provision. I got a sneak peak into God's heart as I watched Rhonda care for His winged creatures.

The Bowmans have a lovely home on 5 acres of land out in the country. They have a wide array of bird feeders, a humming bird feeder, and a hanging water dish in their front yard. And I was struck by the verses above. Did you ever stop and think that some birds are fed from nature, and other birds are fed by caring individuals who take the time to fill a bird feeder? And I was blessed to realize that God provides for some of us through the work of our hands, and others by the generosity of caring individuals who include missionaries in their budget. Both people are dependent on God's provision- He just uses differing methods of provision!

And so today, as we pray that He will provide for our physical needs, know that we are praying that He will continue providing for your needs. And perhaps you aren't worried about financial needs, but you have another need, please take to heart: you are of great value to our Father, and He knows your every need and delights in providing for you. Thanks to each of you for your obedience to the calling He has placed on your life! He will give you all you need to obey Him!
