Little Taste of Heaven

I lay me down I'm not on my own
I belong to You alone
Lay me down, lay me down
Hand on my heart, this much is true
There's no life apart from You
Lay me down, lay me down
Wow.  There is nothing like standing in a crowd of tens of thousands.  Lifting your hands in worship to Your Creator.  There was such energy and worship at Passion Kampala!  Packed in shoulder to shoulder, front to back.  The throbbing bass our corporate heart beat.  We were one.  And one in surrender.  I loved the theme of the World Tour- White Flag.  We surrender.  Besides believing the gospel, there is nothing else more important in the Christian life than surrender.  And we got to be there!  So grateful.

6838.  here with friends
6839.  early enough to sit for awhile near the front.
6840.  a frisbee so Josh the youth didn't get bored
6841.  samosa for dinner
6842.  this the first Christian concert for some of our staff at Heritage!

Praise him, sun and moon,
praise him, all you shining stars.  -Psalm 148:3
6843.  joining the moon in singing praise
6844.  the sound of all creation worshipping
6845.  You, so worthy of all our praise!

I'll stand, with arms high and heart abandoned, in awe of the One who gave it all.. I'll stand, my soul Lord to You surrendered All I am is Yours!

6846.  thousands in Kampala Uganda raising the white flag of surrender to You
6847.  the freedom in being all Yours
6848.  joy in surrender
6849.  perfect ending to Spiritual Emphasis Week at Heritage!
6850.  this little taste of heaven on earth- all bowing before your throne!

  2. Kelly,

Nice to meet you. I am hopping over from Ann's link up. It looks like you are in ft missions in Uganda? That's great. :) I used to live in West Africa, but we are now in ministry in the US.

Group worship is a beautiful thing to share, even more so in other languages too. It makes me hungry for heaven someday.

    Have a wonderful week,

  5. hi kelly ~ your blog is one of the lists i try and pop in and read regularly on monday (or tuesday - as the case may be since it depends on internet and electricity and life in general cooperating :-)

it must have been amazing to worship like that, with so many, from so many backgrounds - but my favorite things on your list were the frisbee for entertainment... and the simple delight of samosas. have you ever tried those with pizza fillings?

    blessings!

  6. Seems crazy that I was in a van this past weekend at the Desiring God conference chatting about how this was happening, then stumbled onto your blog! God's people, all over, rejoicing in Him.
